There are many kinds of camps to choose
from. Three of the most common are Resident
Camps, Day Camps, and Travel Camps. All of
the camps listed here will be participating
at Kids, Camps & Connections - Camp Fair
2006, plus many more are being added every
day, so make your plans to be with us!
Overnight
Camps
At overnight camps (also known as resident and sleepaway camps), campers leave
home to live at camp for up to several weeks at a time. They sleep overnight
in cabins, tents, teepees or other forms of shelter, and they participate in
a variety of supervised activities during the day. Many resident camps accomodate
kids starting at age 6 and up.
Day Camps
Day camps are similar to resident camps, but without sleeping quarters. Typically,
children are brought to camp in the morning on buses or vans (many day camps
provide transportation as part of their tuition fee), and are then returned home
in the late afternoon. Most day camps are co-ed and offer a variety of programs
and actvities for children and teens ages 3 to 15.
Travel Camps
At a travel camp, kids are escorted on national and/or international excursions
lasting three or more days. Travel camps are growing in popularity and typically
appeal to older campers.
Remember, you'll find all these camps and many more at Kids, Camps & Connections
- Camp Fair 2006, so mark your calendar now!
