We are located on 30 acres with four acres
of irrigated green lawn and surrounded by shady
Sycamore and Oak trees and a natural creek,

programs: Jr. Camp for 3-5 year olds, Day Camp
for 5-12 year olds, Sports Camp for those 7-12,
and our CILT program for 13 and 14 year olds

In 1993 Crossroads began a comprehensive
summer program for students entering grades
K-12. The Summer Program models its philosophy
and course work after the Crossroads school-year
cirriculum. Summer Programs are open to the
public and there is no formal admissions process.
All applicants are processed on a first-come,
first-served basis. Students can attend one
program or course, or build a full-day schedule
by selecting a number of courses from our catalogue.
Programs are designed based on the grade level
of the student in the fall and are offered
mid-June through mid-August. Elementary School
(grades K-5) offers an enrichment program where
students may choose a morning specialty in
Academics, Japanese or Spanish Language, Instrumental
Music, Sports or Visual Art. The program also
offers several afternoon options to create
a full-day program. The afternoon Mini-Camp
is a thematic enrichment program that integrates
literature with activities in art, science,
music, dance, sports and games, language and
cooking. Highlights are instructional swimming,
all camp activities and local beach trips.
Students may also choose to participate in
the Musical Theatre Company: a six week theatre
training and performance progam. Middle School
(grades 6-8) offers students course choices
in academics, enrichment, skill development,
sports, and the arts. Students enjoy choosing
courses from several areas of interest to create
a fun full-day program. Upper School (grades
9-12) offers students the opportunity to take
courses for transcript credit. Courses are
offered on a one or two semester basis. Generally,
a student will complete 2 semesters of credit
course work in one summer. Over 100 courses
are offered in the following areas: Academics
-- English and Literature, Film, Humanities,
Language, Mathmatics, and Science. Visual Arts
-- Animation, Ceramics, Digital Imaging, Mixed
Media, Painting, Photography, Studio Art, and
Figure Drawing. Performing Arts -- Drama, Music,
and Dance. Enrichment -- Study skills, Computer
Technology, Cooking. Sports -- Swimming, Basketball,
Soccer, Physical Education, Surfing, Volleyball,
Water-Sports, and Martial Arts. Other programs:
Crossroads also contracts with other educational
entities to offer additional specialized programs
in the summer. These have included Science
Adventures, Kids on Stage, UCLA Aquatics and
The Rhode Island School of Design.
